Preservation Tax Incentives
Surely, everyone knows Madison has wonderful historic architecture. However, there are also three tax incentives programs - two state and one federal - available only for properties listed in the National Register of Historic Places. These programs are specifically designed to encourage and reward private investment and substantial
rehabilitation of historic resources.
National Register District
Note: Properties must be contributing resources in the district, listed 1974 and expanded 1990. Programs also apply to properties individually listed or eligible for listing in the National Register.
