The Special Projects office serves as the city’s general liaison and information officer to the public. Responsibilities include:
  • Coordinating unique municipal projects
  • Coordinating specialty programs, specifically Madison Main Street
  • Directing marketing and tourism city initiatives
  • Reviewing grants for heritage attractions and facade improvements
  • Coordinating city-sponsored events 
  • Reviewing permits for city-licensed events (i.e. home tours and use of public property, including public assembly, parades, and road races
  • Coordinating city employee appreciation and recognition activities
