What is a certificate of appropriateness (COA)?
A certificate of appropriateness (COA) is the official approval and authorization to proceed with a proposed material change within the Corridor Design Overlay District. Upon approval, a COA is issued and design review is complete. Then, applicants proceed to plan review where full sets of plans are checked for building code compliance, engineering, fire, utilities, etc.
