On Thursday, August 4th, Mayor Fred Perriman and City Manager John Klimm hosted a meeting with federal officials to discuss a variety of local issues with federal representatives. Ms. Martha Revelo, Director, and Ms. Katrina Cochran, Staff, from U. S. Senator Raphael Warnock’s Northeast Outreach office joined Mr. Polo Vargas, Regional Outreach Coordinator for U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff in the City Hall meeting. Issues discussed included City transportation and utilities infrastructure needs as well as opportunities for future funding on important community-based initiatives for the City of Madison.
The meeting lasted over an hour and follow up meetings are planned. “We were delighted to meet with the staff of our U.S. Senators and really appreciated the information and assistance they provided to us,” stated Manager John Klimm. Mayor Perriman concluded by stating, “the commitment to work with us in improving the quality of life in Madison is valued and appreciated”.
