Historic Preservation Awards

Each year the Madison Historic Preservation Commission gathers the Historic Madison-Morgan Foundation, the Madison Cemetery Stewardship Commission, the Madison-Morgan Conservancy , the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center, the Morgan County African American Museum, the Morgan County Historical Society, the Morgan County Landmarks Society, and the Morgan County Resource Preservation Advisory Board to celebrate Historic Preservation in Madison.

Congratulations to the recipients of this year’s Preservation Partner Awards

Outstanding Preservation Leadership
Presented to the Madison-Morgan Conservancy for its years of service toward local preservation and recent initiatives.

Outstanding Preservation Stewardship
Presented to the St. Paul's A.M.E Church for its continued preservation of 847 Fifth, the Church Sanctuary.

Outstanding Residential Rehabilitation
Presented to Miranda & Alec Johnson in recognition of the rehabilitation of 412 Plum Street.

Outstanding Facade Rehabilitation
Presented to Dan Belman & Randy Korando in recognition of the removal a non-historic material from the facade of the L.M. Thompson Building at 140 E. Jefferson Street.


Outstanding Commercial Rehabilitation
Presented to Amici Livery & J&J Livery in recognition of the rehabilitation and adaptive reuse of the Old Livery Stable at 174 W. Jefferson Street.
